ACL's 10th Anniversary Line-Up Announced
With the announcement of the 10th Anniversary (Sept 16-18) of the ACL Festival, it is clear that the promoters of the Austin City Limits Festival have moved full swing from the early years where alt-country bands were highlighted to a more broad-based popular culture sound. That's not too say the musicians are not highly skilled, just its no longer a place to hear Guy Forsyth, Bob Schneider, Kelly Willis, Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, The Randy Rogers Band, Jack Ingram.. Oops Ingram is scheduled and besides Ryan Bingham and Hayes Carll, that's about it for the Texas crowd. And where are the classic headliners like Tom Petty or Van Morrison. Now there is Stevie Wonder, plus Randy Newman, and several solid other acts. But this just isn't lineup that entices a trip to Austin. So check out the lineup and let me know if I'm making a big mistake.

Actually not that impressed.. This will be my 10th year to go, and the only Big name worth while is Stevie of course. Where's Aerosmith? Radiohead? Thought they were spending their profits to bring the best lineup... They need a new booking agent.
